This was the second last track written for the record. When I was working on it I was sure it wasn't going to work, that it was too bland and insubstantial. Once I finished it became one of my favourites. The keys in the chorus are inspired by Phillip Glass, they sound like cascading raindrops. The drums give things a really urgent feel, building up the mood set by the lyrics.
The song is about how it doesn't matter how long you live, even if medical advances meant that we all lived for hundreds or even thousands of years, eventually your life will end and become so small in comparison to the infinite expanse of time that you essentially will have never existed.
