This is a song that I've wanted to write for a long time. I came up with the music for this maybe 10years ago. I always knew what I wanted it to be about, but I was never able to get it down until just recently.
When I was 14 I was on holidays with my family, and while staying in a cabin while travelling we were watching the news. A story came on about a young boy who had died in a freak accident on his first day at his first ever job, and as I watched the story I realised that he was a boy that I went to school with and who was in my same grade. My body didn't know how to deal with the wave of emotions that hit me, so I started laughing uncontrollably. I remember the horror and the shame that I felt at my reaction, but I also understood that this was just too much for me to handle at that point in my life.
